Hi guys.... I have a question. Are the tow hook receiver thread rear it will be fit and works with VMS tow hook ? It doesn't matter front or rear tow hook I just want to confirm about the thread .Any idea ?
Are you planning on tracking the car and using this for recovery in the chance the car breaks down or goes off? I suggest using the oem hook. I broke a swivel one while recovering my car and almost had it roll down into a creek.

Were YOU doing it or was a tow truck? I would be surprised what would happen if the tow truck lost YOUR car using YOUR hook. Last I heard, the tow truck refused to use someone's hook for liability reasons. I would too if I were the company owner.

My friend and I were winching it up a tilt trailer. It didn’t like that. Car rolled fine just couldn’t start the engine.

as I said. I bought that EXACT tow hook for WCC. Those aren’t performance tow hooks, they are cheaply made with a very skinny neck where the swivel threads onto. That is where mine snapped. You may chose to listen or just risk it yourself. Probably would be fine for a little flat towing but trying to winch it onto a trailer and snap, there goes your car.

You are right ...lam going to return this one and lam going to buy heavy duty one ...
But they're not red and don't dangle so I'm guessing they don't add any horsepower.
Ugh, this.
The show car recovery hook **** needs to stop. I still see way too many people driving to and from the grocery store with cheap bundled up straps or dangly hooks, then you get someone who wants an actual functional one and is inundated with the cheap show-only garbage.

I don't know what use someone would have for it unless it is for tracking, really. If I ever got into a ditch I can't get out, I'm calling a tow truck who will get it out with his equipment and if damage occurs, it's on him. I just stand back and take a picture. I don't go to surgery and hand the doctor the tools I think he should use. Without a really good reason and a larger market, why would someone manufacture something sold to a few people? Hence the show hooks.

lol you’re out of your mind if you think a tow company is liable for damages because your car is stuck. It’s on you buddy. you dont hand the doctor tools but you also don’t tell a doctor to operate in the jungle then sue him for an infection.

No, I think they are liable for damages they cause during the tow. So, if their winch cable breaks, I would assume they are on the proverbial hook. You mentioned that you had a tow hook snap. If you told the tow truck driver to use it and during tow, it broke and you car rolled into the bottom of the lake, who pays?
