Changed my Mufflers to a Billy Boat Speedway system. Base 2017 Stingray no mods other then the mufflers. Now after driving on the second startup get a CEL do not remember the code but it is for the Body Control Module with one of the AFM valves or both. Billy boat has no answer as to what is causing it. Have done several AFM valve relearns but it has not helped. Checked the valves spring tension is normal and movement is free no binding or sticking. Wonder if it is the pipes are 3" rather the 2 1/2" factory. Anyone have an answer to what may help?
P12EA indicates the valve at the inlet to the driver's side muffler is closed when it shouldn't be closed. The Chassis Control Module detects an open, short to ground or a short to +12V (B+). Since you verified the valve isn't stuck what happens with the valve when you have the engine running? It sounds like there is an issue with the connector or the wiring. I assume you didn't do anything at the Chassis Control Module end so the problem is at the muffler end. Either in the connector on the car harness or an issue with the valve module. Check for bent/broken/loose/dirty/corroded pins or a wiring problem. Here is a copy of the schematic marked with where you should at least focus your initial diagnostics:
I am focusing on the feedback line since most issues on the other two lines would generate a code for both mufflers. However, if you don't find bent/broken/loose/dirty/corroded pins or a wiring issue on Pin 3 then look at Pins 2 and 4 for bent/broken/loose/dirty/corroded pins as an open at either of those two locations wouldn't affect the passenger side muffler.
Here is the pin out for the module connector:
You can probe the pins in the car harness end of the connector to see if you have +12V at Pin 4 and ground at Pin 1. I am reluctant to recommend probing Pins 3 and 2 to see if you have any continuity back to the CCM since the current used by a meter to determine the continuity/resistance could damage the circuitry in the CCM.
Checked voltage at pins 1 and 4 had 12.12 volts, checked pins at the valve actuator and its connector no bent, corroded or loose pins. Inspected wire harness no damage along its length. Never did anything with BCM the only thing I changed was the aft exhaust pipe with muffler from OEM to a Billy Boat. Billy boat pipes to the muffler are 3" rather then 2 1/2 as OEM. The last item must be the Actuator has an internal issue with incorrect feedback.
