My 2015 Z51 with 7K has developed the dreaded transmission shudder. I called my local Chevy dealer, and they say that GM is now recommending a single flush. Has anyone else come across this?

While I was researching the potential purchase of a Colorado, which has the same A8, I found that dealers are only doing single flushes on these.
Soooooooooo IS there a new TSB out that changes it from a triple to a single flush. If my mouth wants to change fron T to S, I need a little paperwork backup so I can keep my information accurate.
Any of you super sleuths got a source to validate this change?

Ok. Just got off the phone with the service manager at the local Chevy dealer. In essence it is a triple flush, but it's done by a machine that does all the flushing and filling. I have an appt. for next Tuesday to get it done. I'll post results. As a side note my extended warranty won't cover it. I explained that it will prevent a transmission failure that they would be liable for. They didn't care. So I said I could just go ahead and drive it til it completely fails, and they'd have to pay $1000's instead of a few hundred dollars. They said that's right. Strange logic if you ask me.

That was pretty much my experience. They're basically gambling that the transmission won't fall out. I went ahead and payed the freight to have it done. It completely resolved the issue for me.

I thought the triple flush was also done by a machine? What is the procedure? Are they hooking it into the lines or into the fill port?
Not really. You might sell the car to someone else or it gets into a catastrophic accident before that happens.

Kinda like life insurance. You bet you are dying tomorrow and they bet you are dying after the term expires. Sure, they will lose some but in the end, that is the way to bet.
It's now been a couple days since the triple flush. The shudder seems to be resolved. It shifts smooth as silk no matter how hard I stomp on it. Now, only time will tell is it's a long term fix or not. It was definitely pricey, but hopefully worthwhile!!
They can't use the 'machine' for the triple flush on the Corvette. Go to the last page of the TSB that is just for the Corvette. The mating block can't be connected to the trans due to insufficient space.
So they drop the pan 3x and refill.
They only use the machine to refill the trans, kinda like using a pump up sprayer from Home Depot.
If they are only doing 1 flush then they are cutting corners and not really removing all the old fluid.

I'm in the process of getting quotes from multiple dealerships in my area.
While doing so, I can't get one that doesn't have a comma in it!!! If they don't offer up what parts will be used and how many hours it'll take, I ask and consistently told 24-quarts and 3.5 hours.
This seems a little outrageous to me as I've read multiple people on here getting it done between $400-$600. Can this be done by a transmission shop instead of the dealership, or am I stuck with taking the best of the worst quotes?

I would make sure I talk to the tech who will do the procedure and make sure he is corvette qualified. Make sure he understands the process and what it entails.
I don't understand those 2 sentences. Comma in what quote? What does that mean? What do you find wrong about the 24 quarts and 3.5 hours?
I don't go off that. I go off the materials and time. $400 to $600 is ambiguous without knowing what materials and time and procedure they used. Would said transmission shop do a pan drop, filter change and fluid fill or follow the procedure? Without knowing that, who knows what you will get?

The quotes I'm getting are all $1,000+ for 24 quarts and 3.5 hours of labor. That seems very high given the prices other's have paid for the same work.

Sure but without knowing what they are paying for, how can you know? IF their labor rate is higher or the hours are more or the fluid costs more? Hard to say. Best you can do is see what the book time for the job done is and go with that.

I just paid a little over $600 for the service at a Chevy dealer here in SC.

According to Ramets:
Looks like the fluid was: 24 (19417577) Fluid--$286.80 Labor: $389
They did this as per bulletin 18-NA-355
At 3.5 hours, his labor rate is $115 per hour. What is your breakdown? What is the labor rate in your area? Any chance you can scan the quote?
