Default Overheating

I have not had a previous problem, but today car overheated, causing much antifreeze to be pushed out bottom of (overflow) tank, where I thinkit is just a drain.after 8 mile drive. Any ideas as what could have caused this.
Thank you

It’s a good idea to fill out your profile so we know what we’re dealing with…no magic bullet when it comes to overheating…here’s something from Alldata for a 2017.

I understand. 2016 Z51. Everything was working just fine. I have checked fluid probably 2 weeks ago - ok, Oil level good. Last year had headers and cam installed about 5000 miles ago. No problems, I have never noticed a fluid leak.

I’d find a good diagnostic shop in your area…not a Dealership or an Independent !!

If not yet mentioned, a faulty thermostat can be an issue.
