After I got my 2014 C7 3LT Z51 home we noticed that both seats have the leather pulled out from the plastic seat back. It was kind of hidden by the side airbags. I'm working with the dealer who I hope will cover the cost of repair. See the pics attached. Since both sides have a near identical flaw, I expect this problem may be common to this trim level with the leather seats. Has anyone seen the same?
I expect it will mean pulling the seats out to fix it correctly. Has anyone fixed it themselves?

I found this from your other thread but no need to take the seats out. You could take the airbag cover off or just return these into the channels using a plastic pry tool. If you were local to the twin cities I'd gladly show you. Once you understand how it works, it's an easy 5 min fix. Use one hand to put pressure outward to give slack to the channel while you tuck the rubber into the groove with your other hand. You should feel it set in.
Thanks for the posts and references to the GT seat swap. I watched 2-3 videos and series of pictures from one post. It looked "doable". I have a nice set of plastic tools with right angles and a helpful wife. The airbag housing did not interfere with getting tools in place. We felt the lip that should be holding the edge of the leather + rubber strip. We could push it the edge into the groove but it does not hold. It seems the rubber may be compressed and not thick enough anymore to hold in groove. I'm not 100% sure we were pushing in the right place or far enough, but we seemed to get it to same location as the leather above and below where it is pulled out. We've given up for the moment.
Yeah it can be a little tough. My best suggestion is that start where it isn't coming out, that section should be tucked in well amd see if you can get it in from there. Takes some working and makes for sore hands. There are 2-3 metal clips in each seat too that help hold the rubber in place, my only other thought is to reposition those to assist or add more. Also that strip should be at 180 degrees, as it it will do a full "U" turn on itself when seated properly. If you were local I'd say bring it over. If nothing else, any upholstery shop should be familiar and able to fix. Good luck
Thanks for input. I would guess that there is a metal clip just above and below where the leather is pulled out, leather does not seem to want to pull out further. I think the full U-turn is our problem. We have been pushing it in straight with leather towards the outside and rubber toward the seat. In my previous location, I had a great local upholstery shop, but I need to do a search here, We mostly have boat upholstery shops here and they may never have seen a seat like this. We may take another stab at it with the U-turn in mind.
