Key FOB and C7 miscommunication?
I bought another key fob and blank trunk key.
Using the recommended method for programming the new key several problems came up:
1) FOB that came with car locks and unlocks and the car will start. Insert the trunk key and turn 5 times and the message on the screen is "Remote learning in progress Please wait" FOB in car with me and it never got es to "Ready for Remote#."
2) I am afraid to go on without confirming that the slot is working. Although the FOB does what it is supposed to do I also have never seen the remote be indentified as "You are driver number 1" or 2 on the DIC on entry.
3) If I just go ahead and do the add another remote I get the same "Remote learning in progress Please wait" and not the "Ready for remote#."
Elmer?
Anyone?

Long program is Steps 1, 2, 8 and then the rest.

When I go to #8 the DIC is supposed to show "Press Engine Start/Stop Button to Learn"
But mine goes to "Remote learning in progress Please wait"
I never get to the "Press Engine Start/Stop Button to Learn" phase to start the process.

This isn't a Canada car is it?
The car was shipped from Ohio, how do I know if it is a Canadian car?
I think that the fob that came with the car is defective or that the DIC needs to be reset as it seems to be in a programming loop that will not resolve.
I had quite a bit of frustration until I remembered that 2014/15 fobs are not compatible with 2016+ model years. I sold my spare 2014 fob and bought the correct 2016+ for my 2019.
Once you get the fob working, there is an eBay site that will cut a metal key from pictures or the key code.

M7 convertible takes 5 button convertible w/o remote start.
This is the 23465950 for my C7 manual coupe. The part number is here:

I removed the battery from the original working fob and put it in the slot on the column and the car runs so the slot must be working. At least that is out of the way.

I'm also having issues, if anybody has any ideas I would appreciate it. I'll keep my story brief...
I just bought a 2015 manual z51 stingray. The dealer only had one fob. I bought a NEW one from locksmithkeyless.com. The brand of the fob is ILCO but it is brand new.
I'm also stuck at the learning phase. I've tried with the good fob in the car and also away from the car. With the good fob in the car it will give the message "waiting for remote 3". Won't ever program it/recognize it. If I try with the good fob away from the car, I get "remote pairing in progress" or however it words it. But again it never accepts the fob.
Regarding the chart with part numbers, I find it interesting that it says 22779879 is the part number for the 2014-2015 manual coupes without remote start but my fob that I received with the car is part number 23465950 and it works fine. So obviously the replacement I bought is the identical match to my fob, not what the chart says.
As others have said, I'm weary of doing the long method and wiping all linked fobs. I have one that works, so that seems like a risk. I'm curious the odds of the good/known fob programming just fine in that process or the odds of it being turned into a paperweight?
Anybody have any new ideas? Thanks in advance.
The 2014/15 and 2016/19 are on different radio frequencies... See post #8 - the 5950 is labelled 434 mhz and measures 433.6 with my inexpensive RF meter.
If a 5950 works on a 2014/15 some of the receiver parts on the car have been replaced.
