Default M2W switch question, non NPP car?

I’m thinking about removing my axle back on my ‘17 stingray and buying some mufflers with NPP off a grand sport. I’ve seen people use the mild 2 wild switches or valve controllers. Will the mild 2 wild switch work on my non NPP car or do I need to buy the valve controller? Or are they all the same? Thanks

Also are the Stingray/Grand Sport mufflers any different from the Z06/ZR1 mufflers? Thanks.

You’re missing the wiring and software. M2W won’t do anything on your car.

im not aware of anyone retrofitting the factory system on a c7. It’s different than a C6. The aftermarket used to sell a controller for about $400 and a couple guys have designed their own

Stingray, GS, and Z06 NPP mufflers are the same. ZR1 mufflers are internally different but interchangeable.

C6 used vacuum to open and close the NPP, the C7 uses a 5v modulated signal.

You can retrofit a non NPP car but it's expensive this controler will give you all the factory functions

the factory Z06 mufflers wont technically work on a GS or Stingray. The factory mufflers for the Stingray and GS also include the over the axle pipe which includes the AFM valves, the Z06 mufflers with the axle pipes dont have AFM valves

So I’d have to get the valve controller? I just bought some GS mufflers for my stingray that have the valves. My car is a non NPP car.

Not all GSs have the AFM valves. The M7 cars are without. I think they made the same change in 2017 for the Z51 M7 cars as well. Used to be an "Ask Tadge" thread that detailed it out.

OP....if you buy mufflers without the AFM valves and you need them, install AFM sims so you don't get a check engine light or have it programmed out. The other option is to take the electronics off the existing setup, plug them into the factory harness, and tie them off to the side of the exhaust.

Do u have the valves before and after the mufflers ?

You need the AFM valves that are before the muffler , if they don't have them you would have to buy AFM simulators that your AFM actuators bolt to and tie them up under the car somehow

If you have the 2 sets of valves then you would need this controller to have control like the factory

Kinda expensive but it's the only way to go unless you just running the NPP open at all times . I run mine open 90% of the time as they don't drone at all
