You will have to take it somewhere and have they system evacuated before you can change it out. It would be worth doing before it goes if you think it is. If the compressor goes, it could contaminate your system and then most places will recommend changing everything. Also, not sure if it uses the YZ1234 refrigerant but that stuff is pricing and most places outside of a specialty AC shop or a dealer wont be able to recharge it.

Just watched the video. Could just be the AC clutch. I would confirm before changing out the compressor.

I believe it is R134A so he lucked out. I did a swap in shop class. So yes, evacuating it would be the first step. I believe kits should be bought for this. I think you can buy the compressor alone BUT they won't warranty it if you don't change the receiver dryer thing. I would buy the kit. I would not want to do a DIY on this unless I had to. If you do, see if you can rent the machine to vacuum it assuming there is no debris in the line.,

Hi, have you figured what is wrong with it? my did the same noise when turning on the A/C and stopped after like 10 seconds, but one day the noise did not stop. Now everytime I turn it on it makes that loud noise nonstop when idle and will decrease when increasing speed and the air is not so cold.
