My 17 Stingray sat for about 10 days. Returned and spent some time with ignition on setting memory seats. Turned the car on and drove up driveway. Trac, parking brake service and engine light went on and limp mode notification. Reviewed sx in general forum and bad battery was suggested as likely culprit. My cheap scan tool showed a module code but not specific trouble code. Replaced battery as this was on my list to do anyway. Initially fine, but engine light returned.
Limped to Orielly’s and diagnosed P2138. Researched the code and quickly figured my Soler throttle controller might be the problem. Took it out and seems to have solved the issue.
Looking to understand what might be happening. Soler TC caused no issues when installed more than a year ago. Could a low/faltering battery cause the computer to react to this device differently or a new battery (Diehard AGM) create conditions that could lead to it throwing off trouble codes? Any theories or experiences would be appreciated.
1st do you have a Thottle Controller? If so turn it down ... they throw these codes all the time
If not ...
Throttle position sensor goes bad not just with a Solar but also stalso throttle body , it also could be your pedal ...but if your car is running fine when u put the old throttle body on then you have already riled out the pedal assembly
How old is your battery? Did you wait a while and reconnect the controller, trying it again? Perhaps, do that first, then unhook your battery and reconnect it after a wait. One doesn't get differing results without something changing.

Throttle controllers are nice but if you set them to high the ECM will sense an out of range condition and force reduced power mode
After 1 yr my older (wired) 2023 C8 popped the P2138 code, set for City Mode.
Disconnected it, started and put in gear, couple runs, no code..
Hummm....
I may try the newer Bluetooth version or the Soler to see if will work as good as the old one did for the past yr.
Car feels like a slug without it..
Upon research, it seems after about 1 yr, these controllers seem to pop this code.
Wondering if somehow they make the TPS more sensitive, and it starts to throw the code, because once its removed, all is back to normal.
i had one in my c7 when i replaced the cam and heads, the shop disconnected it because it kept putting the car in limp mode while dyno'ing. took it out, sold it and honestly, dont miss it

Check with the shop as they probably took out the throttle lag when they tuned your car. No need for a throttle controller after that.
