Hi all. I have a 2014 C7 which has remote start from the factory but it was affected by the OnStar 2G sunset so the Chevy app no longer connects to the car. I have had good experiences with Viper remote start / security systems on two other cars and I was wondering if anybody has had Viper or a similar aftermarket system professionally installed in their C7? If so, were there any issues or does everything work as expected? The two equally important goals here are to extend the range of the remote start function as well as getting security related feedback from a greater distance, ideally through a phone app. In case it makes a difference, my C7 is a 6 speed automatic. Thanks in advance for any feedback!
I have a 2014 C7 A6 and the remote start still works as it did from the day I received the car. All automatics have remote start. Manuals do not have that feature.
Thanks, Elmer. To clarify, my remote start still works from my key fob if I am close to the car but I am trying to start it and get security alerts from further away.

Ah. Welp, I hope you find something to meet your needs.

Try a fresh battery in your fob. I can do mine about 50' away. Very
Thanks for the feedback. Yes, I am looking for way more range than what any OEM fob can offer for both remote start and security reasons. With the two previous Viper systems I have owned, I could start my car and get notified of security alerts up to about 1/4 mile away in the city (so think about getting alarm alerts or cooling/heating your car while still inside a sky scraper, movie theater, shopping mall, etc. This is a huge benefit in Houston's 100+ degree summers!) Viper also has an option to connect up to cell towers and use a phone app to extend that functionality anywhere with cell coverage, which is how I imagine the Chevy app used to work before the 2G sunset. I was just hoping to hear that others on here may have had positive experiences with some sort of after market option because I am hesitant to have something go wrong with my recently purchased Corvette if this is not a routine installation.
