Default Check Engine Light

I got a cel while driving. I was passing autozone so used their scanner. Showed P0056, low voltage bank 2, sensor 2 and P0057 saying most likely replace O2 sensor. I got 1, but when I got under car, where sensor plugs into wiring harness it was laying against exhaust and is melted so bad won't come apart and it appears some of the wiring harness wires are also melted. So that part of wiring harness needs replaced. I can't seem to find it online. I did see what appears to be a replacement harness, 17 inches long, when going to headers. Anyone have any knowledge? I was going to do it myself, but not sure I can get to where I would need to plug into upper harness and it appears that harness also plugs into sensor 1. Just looking for some help, advise. I'd prefer a stock harness. Thx

It's part of the main wiring harness, there's not a singular harness for that o2 sensor. What you're going to need to do is cut the 4 wires going into the connector leaving as much of the length as possible. On those 4 wires you'll need to crimp in place new pins (either male or female, I don't remember which half is which). Once you've re-pinned the wires, you'll need to insert them into a new connector body. Usually you can find the connectors via Mouser or other electronics distributors. There are shops that sell them but for the genuine connector pieces expect to pay $12-$20 for one.

If you don't want to do that, then buy the extension used for headers. Cut the wires going into the melted connector. Cut the wires on the corresponding connector that's part of the extension. Splice the extension to the factory harness. I find it best to solder the splices and use heat-shrink tubing.

Thank you!!
Sounds like that harness for headers actually plugs into the connector that goes to O² sensor instead of the main wiring harness. That's a bummer. I was hoping I would not have to cut and splice. But still thx for info
I should have mentioned I have a 2015 ZO6

Headers move the o2 sensor ~15" downstream from the OEM position so the extension bridges that gap.

Hopefully you have a lift or a QuickJack since trying to do it on your back would be a real pain. Also....be sure to check the connectors. If I remember correctly, the aft sensor connectors are different than the front sensors.

Well, first you found out what is wrong. Secondly, from the sound of this I'd get a new connector and try splicing the wires. I suspect it will work fine, but you aren't out much if it doesn't... before doing what is likely to be much more. All the best, in any event!
