Got a buddy going to run the half mile and full mile in a stock C7 Stingray. 2018 I think. A8. Is it top end computer limited in any way?
What can he expect MPH wise?
Any tips for max results like manual mode to hold trans in a lower gear?

I once a long time ago saw publicized for the stock St'ray as mid-180s for top speed. It should be faster than the other models due to less downforce. All my Land Speed racing experience over the years has been with manual transmissions, but I'd expect no more than one OD gear to give top speed, but again I'm talking manuals. It is all going to depend on overall ratios of the specific vehicle. All the best and tell him to be safe!

Corvettes have never been mph speed limited via programming. Just engine RPMs.

Sounds about right to me. If he expects more, get a Z06 or ZR1.

My C6 was limited to 158 until turning off traction control. I haven't had the C7 much over 140, so no experience there yet.

Corvettes haven't been speed limited. The engine revs are limited to prevent engine damage but they are a sports car so no speed limiting. You will have to study the engine rpm Vs speed info in each gear to see which gear to run the car in. If you choose too high of a gear you won't have the power at a specific rpm to get to top speed.
