I did discover how fragile that shifter is ... ALL plastic under that shifter ****. A bit disappointed ,,, and a word to the wise should be sufficient.
I've done the "start button" w/o brake ... all I've gotten is powered electronics ... it doesn't allow me to manipulate the transmission shifter without the engine's running, nor did it "shut up" the door chime.
got the pads/rotors changed (frozen rotors) ... so in "burnishing" I wanted to avoid that pocket burn of holding hot pads on a hot rotor by using the park brake/neutral. "Veronica" allowed that ... but then she required I step on the brake pedal again to release the park brake. Good grief.
I'm still not sure what caused the shifter lock ... nor what specific corrective action I took.
