I am new to driving my C7 Stingray due to AFM problems. [fixed with a Texas Speed kit] So now I am tyrying to fix the little problems. I read somewhere that the fuel door sometimes won't open and mine is undependable in this regard. Is there a fix for this or info anywhere. A search got me nothing.

Disabled my locking mechanism by inserting a plastic button into the fuel door hole that the locking pin inserts into. Do not remember the button size but you can find it with a search of the C7 forum threads. These buttons can be bought at Home Depot in the misc hardware drawers.
yes!! There is no emergency cable release in the trunk like previous generations as you know. The solenoid motor location with its convoluted linkage design does not lend itself to a separate mechanical cable override in my opinion. But does lend itself to unreliable operation including failure. Bad design so best to disable it and never worry about evermore.
Yeah, just plug the hole the "lock" pin goes into. There are any number of options to do so. I just looked around the shop and found some plastic 2-piece fastener that popped in and has been in place for almost 6-years. .
since mine was still working fine, i just unplugged the actuator motor behind the liner when i was working on the car for other things while off the ground plenty of room to do with rim still on and suspension unloaded.
but yes easiest is placing a plug to block it.
I had to pull my fender liner for something else. But while looking around I just pulled the mechanism back and turned it up 90 degrees.
I don't see the value in locking it to begin with.
Mine has been working just fine for 8 years. When it doesn't open right away I find I have to open the driver's door to reset the timer that controls how long the latch is active.
