Default CEL Code P0107

I got the CEL on today. I just got the OBD FIXD the other day, so I plugged it in, and I got a P0107 Code and a message saying Manifold Absolute Pressure/Barometric pressure Circuit Low Input. I have an extended warranty ($100 deductible) is this an easy fix or is the dealer the best option?

The P0107 is either a bad MAP sensor or the wiring or a bad connection…it is a 3 wire sensor with a 5 volt reference, signal, and a low reference (ground)…don’t think a dealership will be your only option…any repair shop should be able to figure it out…it’s a .4 hour (24 minute) job and a $79.00 sensor (OEM) by the book…if you were ever a wrench turner and just want to change the sensor it’s an easy job…you’re 2 hours from me and I’d say bring it down here but that’s a haul..I’d be able to check everything.

Problem fixed. Turned out the connector to the sensor had come loose. I took the intake cover off to paint is and add the chrome pieces from American Car Craft and I must have not gotten it plugged in completely, in fact it was not even connected. strange the car ran prior to yesterday without any codes.

I guess that was an important piece of info we didn’t know about you taking the intake cover off !!…a 0107 is a Type B DTC so it illuminates the check engine light after 2 drive cycles…that is why it didn’t come on after you started the car the first time after putting everything back together.
