please help with gearbox maintenance
Hello, sorry for the inconvenience.
Could you explain all this to me a little?
I have just bought a c7 z51 a8 from month 7 year 15
And I was wondering several things regarding the transmission. since it has 68,000 km and I want to do maintenance. (I don't know if they have done it before)
What is triple discharge?
How can I detect if I have the typical problem?
And what brand and type of oil should I use?
Any other advice when doing maintenance? some gasket, filter, anything.
Or any other advice related to the car itself?
I already have the programming so that it always works on V8 and an Xpipe.
I'm from Spain, so the official service doesn't know anything about these cars. But I have friends with good workshops, who even have dialysis machines to do complete gearbox washes... in one go.

I see it usually referred to as a triple flush. Some A8 transmissions had a type of problem that was cured by doing the procedure. I have an M7 so no actual experience. I would search the forum for more details as this is discussed fairly frequently. BTW, welcome to the forum from Virginia, USA.

From what I see, I don't have that problem.
I will try to ask the dealer if my car has already changed to that type of oil or not.
It would be nice to do it if it's not done.
From what I see it is a Dialysis to change all the fluid completely.

Does anyone know what color the old gearbox fluid is?
I have no way of knowing if my car has already had it replaced or not.
I know that the new mobile 1 is red..
If the old one was a different color, you could check it by just taking out a little of the current oil.
