2017 stingray bought at 16k miles. instaled k&n oil air filter. Started rough idling plus a voltage code assuming by disconnecting the maf sensor during the install without disconnecting thr battery. Cleared code with obd reader, fan stopped going crazy. drove a couple cycles still idling rough and slightly different engine noise. Replaced filter back to stock and issue persisted. Read somewhere might be due to oil on maf sensor, but to disconnect negative terminal to reset and see if it solved before taking it apart to clean it with cnc. After reconnecting negative terminal now i have the following code, drove it couple of ignition cycles still there. Seriously dont want to believe i messed up the body control module after a battery terminal disconnect, any thoughts?(btw its not thowing a CEL just appears on the reader. Looked under the panel next to the battery and checked that no cable was out of place)U0422

Not sure but it might be good to reboot the entire enchilada. Remove the neg battery cable and let it sit for 10 minutes. Hook up the cable and let the system reboot. Give that a shot. The other guys, on here, will be more help, but sometimes the easy thing might straighten out the ECMs confusion.
I have never had such issues disconnecting the MAF sensor while changing air filter elements on C5 and C6 vettes. Never touched the battery negative cable connection either. You might recheck the MAF sensor wiring harness connection to make sure nothing went awry with the reconnection.
With multiple failures like yours I would suspect the battery. How old is the battery? I am sure you have cleaned the terminals. Replacing the battery is a first easy fix.
gonna try out disconnecting it for longer, otherwise replace the battery. Not sure how old the battery is. But im more than sure its only been replaced once if at all (6 years old now) bought ut just 3/4 months ago

When I buy a used car, "it flows, it goes". I will also add a battery test to my list of stuff.
Two months ago I added the Jake Intake. Following the installations, I disconnected the battery before the install and reconnected it upon completion. No codes.

Thanks!
Your first mistake was buying a car with anything k&n installed on it. I’d start by removing all the gimmicky junk that belongs in the trash can before it ruins a perfectly good car. 👍
