Default Transmission Pan

Will a A10 pan fit our A8’s maybe a bump in capacity? I noticed that also have a drain provision.
I looked at RockAuto and the pan gaskets look very similar.

Can I ask what you think the deeper pan will do? I mean, if it is for racing, maybe the extra buffer for heat might be useful. Beyond that, for street use, I really am struggling to see a use. It takes longer to heat up because of the capacity. OTOH, it makes the internals soak in heat longer when it is having to cool off more hot material. On a Ford Truck forum, an ex-Ford transmission engineer (back in the 2000s) did some testing and found that the deep pan did absolutely nothing other than take longer to heat and longer to cool. The transmission cooler for the 6.0 truck in the 7.3 helped way more.

I do race the car on weekends an always thought more fluid was better especially in a racing application.

I specifically recall seeing a deep pan for the C7 - A8 with a price tag that will make your head spin. Google: LG Motorsports LGA8 A8 High Capacity 8-Speed Transmission Pan Chevrolet Corvette C7

BTW - removing the pan itself is no joy as the rear bolts are a super PITA to access!

Wouldn't it be easier and cheaper to just add an external cooler for racing?
