Default Inovators West Balancer install question

C7 Z06 18% overdrive balancer. Should I torque the supplied bolt to 130lbs with loctite per these instructions?

https://innovatorswest.com/instructi...structions.pdf

I found those on the website but they weren't sent with the balancer. The instructions that came with it said factory specs but you can tell the supplied bolt isn't a tty bolt.

130lbs just seems a little low.

I have used both the OEM tty bolt and now have swapped to an ARP bolt. For the ARP bolt the directions say 235, so that is what I did, no locktite. If it were me, I would not use red on that bolt as it will probably become impossible to remove after. Also, 130ftlbs seems kind of low, I would probably go a little higher. Just my 2 cents. I'll attach a link to the ARP Dry Sump bolt and its instructions as well incase it would work for your application or you are interested. If I remember correctly, it is a 24mm 12pt socket that I used as well. Hope this is helpful and everything works out.

I have to admit, I followed the instructions for my A&A kit and installed the bolt included with the Innovators West balancer with red locktite and torqued it to 130 lbs. Getting the stock bolt off was a challenge... until I applied heat and there was lots of thread lock on that bolt.

Thanks. I had the balancer back off on my c6 Z and that is not a fun job to correct so I wanted to make sure.

When Ist put my A&A kit on like @JosephMingle said I followed the instructions from A&A. I removed the balancer not to long ago for my build and it wasn't that bad getting it off. Just add a floorjack bad to a breakbar it will come right off. I did add a ARP bolt when I reinstalled

With all the input from other forum members, I would think that you are totally fine following the directions that came with the kit. You shouldn't have an issue. In any case, 130 just seems low to me for a crank bolt, but if it works it works. Good luck on the install.

Also followed the A&A kit instruction with red loctite. Had no issue getting the factory bolt off though.
