Default Cruise Control Stopped Working

Has anyone ever experienced issues with cruise control? I use it all the time, like every time I drive. Recently it has become intermittent. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. My car is a 2014 Z51. I think this is just coincidence, but I did recently have an A&A supercharger installed on it. Does the cruise control get moved for the supercharger?

Cruise control does not get moved for a centri install , the car is drive by wire . But if there is a fault , Cruise will not engage. I would ask whoever tunes it to take a look at it, make sure all connections are tight and scan with HP tuners to see if there is a module code . Its real easy to pop the connection pins out the back ( ask me how i know )

If nothing is found u will have to find someone with GDS2 to scan the whole car to see what module is not booting or responding and why
good luck

Dave

One of the things to check is the brake switch. That has to be set correctly or it tells the cruise the brakes are on. Also, check the clutch switch. Another thing to check is the cruise switch on the steering wheel.

As mentioned above the car is drive by wire so the ECM controls the cruise function.

Good advice - best of luck finding the cause of the problem.

I found the problem. Thank you Bill for the suggestions. After your suggestions, I paid closer attention to my clutch and brake pedals. My clutch pedal sticks slightly and doesn't always return to the fully up resting position. I don't know why it sticks, and it's very easy to bump it with my foot to get it in the correct position.

Sounds like you need to replace/bleed the clutch fluid. That's where I would start.

I bet your clutch is black ugly. Do the clutch flush ASAP. I did the ranger method (I have no idea why it is called that) and it worked well. You need a turkey baster (put a wire tie around where the bulb connects to the plastic tube so they don't separate). Pull the fluid out of the reservoir, and fill w/ new fluid. Now pump the clutch pedal 20 times. The fluid will be just a little less black, suck it out, fill it up, pump it. Keep doing this until your fluid stays clear for the 20 pumps. I bet that fixes your pedal.

The clutch fluid was the problem. I did the ranger method and it's good to go now.

Back in the Black Shoe days of the Army (pre-2020), there was a forum member with the handle Ranger. He was a C5 drag racer and he developed this flushing method to keep his C5 clutch operating properly. It looks like he hasn't posted anything since 2011. Here is his member info: https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...43-ranger.html

Here is one of his C6Z threads about how often clutch fluid should be changed. His first post also has a link that shows the clutch fluid change kit he keeps in the car. https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...id-impact.html

I did find his website is still active and has a link to Clutch Care: https://www.rangeracceleration.com/Clutch_Care.html
