I couldn't stand it,,,,, OCD, ****, old man issue. I drained a bit of oil and got the oil on the dip stick to the correct top line. I do know the amount of oil I drained out, doesn't make any difference.

Yep I'm the same way. Better to just make it right and obsess about something else. Although I might have been able to leave this one alone, hmmm. Or maybe not.

LOL I'd do the same thing. As a DIY guy not under the gun to make a profit by beating flat rate, I have the luxury of spending as much time as I want to make things "right" and I suspect you're in the same boat.
I tried to use a small 1/4" OD tube, it doesn't fit down the dipstick tube. I looked at the hardware store for a smaller OD tube, no joy. There is a restriction at the end of the tube to allow the diameter of the end of the dipstick to just fit.

I tried to change my oil with an excavator but I couldn't get down to the bottom of the oil pan - I didn't realize that the restriction was that high up. That's annoying. Oh well, need to get under the vehicle to change the oil filter anyways, and at least there aren't a bazillion body panels to remove to get at it.
Top-side oil filters and sucking oil out through the dipstick has got to be one of the best car innovations ever.

Technically nothing wrong with being precise, but if it was just a small amount, you probably would have been just fine.
I never said how I drained it. I made sure the oil was cold, unscrewed the drain plug carefully and kept it in the hole and pulled it out just enough to have it flow a bit. The oil being cold helped a lot. It didn't burn my fingers and flowed very slow.
