Anyone know what this is? Found under ZR1 rear passenger side when doing exhaust and header install. Also removed TCM. Any help appreciated

Sorry I don't have a definitive answer but I do like puzzles. That looks like a turning **** but I don't think it's part of the car, might have fallen in there at the factory. Over the years, when taking apart less accessible areas of various cars I have found loose extra hardware that was certainly dropped at assembly time and not bothered to be retrieved.

Protective cap / cover for a piece of equipment / tooling, protective cover for an AC / pressurized line with a recessed valve, protective cover for a tire inner tube without the valve stem (Schrader valve) installed, or possibly a valve stem tool?

Hard to tell as the "part" is dark in the photo and can't tell if it has internal threads or a flat in the stem of it.

Yeah, the pic is not good for seeing details. Are you sure it's even from the car?

No I am not. It is entirely plastic and has an extended and rotating plastic stem. It is not an AC cap for sure. I visually inspected the rear underside of the car but count not see anything bare or missing. Probably from something else in my garage. I have **** all over when I am in the middle of projects. LOL

Man... that's one I don't recognize.. almost looks like the end of a vent cap for a hose. If it was a metal part you would throw it in oil tank and it would find it's way back

It almost looks like an speedometer gear/sensor that goes in a transmission. Not sure if you have any of those projects going on.

Not the same but similar for reference:
