This has probably been asked before, but I couldn't find a definite answer. I will be putting LT headers w/ cats on my Stingray sometime in the 6 months and I need to know how loud Stealth mode is while driving/on start up compared to Stealth mode with stock manifolds/cats. Like, if Stealth mode with stock manifolds and cats is at a level 2 out of 10 loud, what would it be with headers and stock NPP mufflers? Thank you!
When my NPP are closed , it's like driving your fathers Buick , with them open and driving normal , no drone what so ever. With them open and going WOT ...sounds angry , very angry lol 😆
What would make headers louder then stock if all cats etc are still used , or do the cats come off too and thats why its louder. Like an X pipe I read about. Just wonderibg.

I have high flow cats , don't know the reasons why but they are louder than stock at wide open throttle , a lot louder
Headers and a tune are ussually worth 35 to 40 rwhp . The reason why this is a good mod for the money is this increase is across most of the poweband so its a real seat of the pants gain that you can feel without hurting the reliability of the car
I'll chime in, too. I have ARH LT with cats and NPP. With the valves closed it's barely louder than stock unless you are driving it pretty hard. Then it's just a little bit louder. It sounds better but not a lot more volume. With the valves open it's WAY louder than stock was with the valves open.
These cars are pretty loud with NPP open stock, but with headers they are VERY loud. I always put the car in tour mode when parking in the garage. Otherwise, it rattles the house at start up.

Yes, my Long Tubes Bark when NPP opened up!! When on in Stealth you would never Know it wasn’t Stock.
Agree with all above, longtubes & cats & NPP is a wonderful configuration. In quiet mode sound level on your scale will be 2.5 - in open mode sound is sweet and thunderous.
And yes go with quality, ARH will fit absolutely perfectly with even clearance gaps all around.

What is involved with header install? Is it all done from below on a lift? Like relatively easy? I would have to pay a shop. These babies are pricy! $2600. Can anyone give an idea of install time and cost? I guess if I were to do this, an ported manifold and Solar TB would be needed too? I was thinking Supercharger, but I think it would effect resale too much. I tend to not hold on long term.

I did it in my residential garage on jack stands. Not really a difficult job, if I recall the stock exhaust manifold and cat on passenger side needed a bit of fenagling to get out even with the fuse box removed and at install header on same side had to be gently rammed past the heater hoses but really nbd. Good news is all 4 O2s can be reused, just have to spend some time rerouting and heatshielding the wires. Not sure how much time it actually takes because I go slow to avoid future trouble, I recommend you take it to a shop that gives you the same assurance. Soler TB is good. So is ported intake but on stock engine my guess would be cost is high vs minimal gains.
As others have mentioned your C7 will be pretty much like stock when you close the valves. Quiet and very manageable. As if nothing has changed! Open the valves and she'll talk. I do have $300 off some Kooks headers for C7 options ending this month if you want to take advantage of a great deal now, and most configurations are in stock ready to ship! Happy to go over everything together!
