Default Front and Rear Wheel Gap

I have a Z51 Stingray, and the wheel gap in the front is much bigger than the wheel gap in the rear and is very noticeable. I know that our cars don't use typical coilovers and instead use leaf springs. I called my dealership asking if they could simply lower the front end using the bolts to even out the front to match the rear, but they said that it was not possible to do that... I have read many posts stating that the stock bolts are able to be adjusted and can be used to shorten the wheel gap. I also called a local corvette shop and they said they dont touch the bolts because they break easily.

I thought about getting lowering bolts, but many have stated aftermarket bolts don't last and ride badly.

What should I do in this situation? I dont want the rear touched, just the front to match the rear wheel gap. Thanks!

Jack it up and adjust the front ride height bolt on each side. Takes longer to drag the jack out then it does to make the adjustment. Probably a thousand threads on how to do this. Same process for the C5, C6, and C7.

If you change it too much, you'll need a new alignment.

In your case, spray a little penetrating oil on the bolts and let it soak since with age they can seize.

I was curious....looks like I guessed low

i wouldn’t say it takes longer to drag the jack out but yes it’s a very easy job and many YouTube videos on it.
it can take a few tries to get it perfect though. Adjust, drive and let it settle, measure, repeat. At least if you want side to side and front to back at specific heights

It sounds like somebody adjusted the front differently than the rear. The rear of the car should be slightly higher as you will notice when you read the stock specs. Here are the stock measurements for Trim Height. You want to focus on the P and R measurements since you don't need a special tool or a lift to make the measurement. Z51 should have the FE3 suspension but check your RPO Code Sticker if you have an early car and the QR Code in the driver doorway if you have an older car.

Bill, not sure what year the OP's car is but my 2016 Z51 has FE4 suspension. I know you mentioned to check RPO codes or QR codes but just wanted to note it's worth his time to double check. Not a huge difference in settings but if he's going through all the work good to know what specs are. I think the PO of my car lowered it as I found it was scraping too much and the gap didn't look right to me. I ended up adjusting to the lower end of the specifications to be within spec, but not as high as the top of the spec.

When I adjusted mine I used a long prybar to get the head of the bolt off the control arm. That made turning the bolt a lot easier.

My base Stingray sits 27 1/4 front & 28 1/4 rear. I had considered lowering on the stock bolts but decided I'll leave it. Seems inline with what's been posted.
