I had a max effort NA built and I am happy with it. Knowing myself in a season or two I will be wanting to do something different. I know my internals are good for but is a boost cam and na cam really different? How different is the ring clearance/fitting?
So as a general rule for the top ring I would gap them to .005" x bore dia for a very hot street/ strip application
.0055" x bore dia for a road race application and .006"x bore dia for a blower race application.
These are recommendation guidelines only typical spread is .0045" to .007" times bore dia for the top ring. second ring is larger.
Consult with your engine builder to determine what's best for your build and use.
