My 2016 Z06 displays two warnings on start-up: BRAKES WARN and LOW BATTERY. Thing is, the dealer assures me there is plenty left on the pads(the brakes are carbon ceramic and should last a long time; my car only has 25,000 relatively easy miles). As for the battery, I replaced it recently and now this warning comes on every day. Anybody know why this is
happening? Otherwise, the car has been fantastic and trouble-free.
The dealer should have checked the brake wear electrical circuit for open circuit issues. There can be problems with the pills mounted on the brake pads and the connections in the circuit. You need to check the pill mounted on each inboard brake pad to make sure it was mounted correctly and not prematurely wearing through. As the pad wears the pill is exposed to the rotor and wears down to the point the wire inside the pill is broken, which opens the circuit and causes the warning signal. There are also two connection points at each wheel location and two connection points on the Electronic Brake Control Module. If there is a problem at any of those places the warning will be displayed.
When you replaced the battery the small gauge black wire attached to the negative battery terminal may have broken. It is very tight and it doesn't take much to break the wire. Check to see if it is broken. If it is broken splice in a 4 inch piece of wire of the same gauge and the problem should stop.

I've had that occur in my 19 ZR1. One of the sensors was bad and they have a new ABS flash to help that issue. On the battery it was the small black wire came loose while changing the battery.
Welcome to the board.
Since both of your are not too far from us up here in NC did you see my posts about our 3rd annual Corvette show coming up on May 11 in Hendersonville NC? Attached is the flyer. Come on up! For a great cause and all money goes to charity.
never mind -- I understand. I just wish I had more confidence in my dealer to check such things out. Hate to leave the car for something that should be easy and quick, but nothing at my dealer is either easy or quick.
