Default Driver front left wheel noise ZO6, *Advice needed*

OK So I removed the wheel and brake pads, I spun the rotor and its still makes like a marbling noise. I read where it could be brake dust, I blew air in there with rotor still on and still making noise. I scared to remove the rotor because I just have a 150lb tq wrench not a 162ft lb which is required to reinstall.I did switch pad from stock to PowerStop, any advice anyone with similar issues? Also how hard is it to remove wheel hub Thanks

Sounds like a bad wheel bearing.

ok anyone know the cost at a dealship to repair this?

No other description that it sounds like marbles around 30mph, I took the rotor off blew out the dust spun the hub a few times. Cleaning the mating surface, Im leaning on a wheel hub is bad. I have been using track mode often not sure if this is the culprit.

The entire hub with bearing is about $100 and you can change at home. Your dealership can tell you their price easier than we can.

I know and tried it at home with a lift and the vette almost fell off, from me trying to jack up the A arm. I am going to have firestone install a new bearing for under $500.00, Its a car quest premium wheel bearing, the dealership was over $600.

I know where I went wrong where I should of lowered the lift for the rear wheels to touch the ground and then jack up the A arm to release the spindle.

If this happens again Ill attempt to do it again.

I keep the spindle physically attached, but remove the LCA ball joint nut and outer tie rod. That allows me to unbolt the hub without removing the spindle from car.

Its not the wheel bearing, when I took off tire and turned the rotor by hand, it still made the noise, Any Ideas? Thanks

Remove the brake pads and repeat. If it continues it's likely the wheel bearing.

OK Will Do Thanks

Actually the wheel bearing was already replaced and still had the slight rotating noise, could it be the rotor? Its not the tire because I just spun the wheel of the ground and still made the noise.

The rotor can make some noise against the pad or the hat can make noise relative to the ring.

OK so just removed the brake pads spun rotor by hand and no noise, greased metal and rotating parts, put pads back and gettin noise again. I tried moving the pads slightly to get no noise, but still there.

I guess It could be a slight warped rotor, but its not the wheel bearing? These are power stop pads.

I believe the Brembo calipers have antiknockback features to keep the pads in contact with the rotors all of the time. I wouldn't worry about the noise unless it was a loud grinding noise when the brake is applied.

By the way I don't use a torque wrench when reinstalling the caliper mounting bolts. At times I am trying to change rotors or pads in the paddock with the car on jackstands and there isn't enough room in the wheel well to swing a torque wrench. I use a battery powered impact wrench that has about 350 ft lbs of torque. I just hammer the bolts several knocks with it and the calipers are solid on the knuckle.

Im glad you responded bill, at least its not a wheel bearing and rotor. Ill have to remember that about the tq wrench and caliper bolts.
