Hey guys I was driving down the highway getting on the car a little bit when I got these codes, when I got off the highway the car seemed very sluggish and slow and I got a “power reduced” message on my screen if you guys can help to figure out what the problem is I would greatly appreciate it.
There are a lot of manufactures that make good scanners.
Mine is made by Autel, MP808TS.
Cost ~$700.
It is a mid grade level scanner, good but not the best.
Just depends on how much you want to spend.
They can get very expensive.
Hey I just ordered the solenoid and the bypass valve from a gm website do you think I should install it or take it to the shop for it to be installed I would appreciate your opinion thank you
Hi guys tinkerer or anyone else I replaced the supercharger actuator it helped a little but the cars still runs a
rough I just ordered the solenoid any other ideas that can help thank you guys
If you just wanna throw parts at it, I start at the spark plugs, then the spark plug wires, and then the coils.
But you really need to hook up a scan tool to see what’s going on or you’re just guessing
Hey sorry I may be just throwing things at it at this point but it might be the throttle body is my next guess I did the spark plugs a while ago and had no problem with them right after but your saying coils and wires next instead ?
O2 issues should not cause it to run this rough. When the heaters fail the ECM goes into a default mode and pops a cel. Had this happen on my 06 GT Mustang, heater failure DTC. Turned out to be a defective PCM. But car ran normally. Only the heater circuit inside the PCM was intermittent which I was able to troubleshoot and repair.
On your car I'd start looking at a misfire, dead cylender or the valve springs. Pop the valve cover and inspect the valve springs. On my Autel scanner I can pick out a bad or missing cylinder easily. ( also had this happen on the same 06 Mustang, found #2 cylinder intermittently dropping out, inspected spark plug ( bad ) then replaced it, problem fixed ). But the car never ran rough like yours.
You could also have a large vacuum leak from the evaporation system since the code reader gave you a DTC for this system. ( hose split or came off ). I've found that an ultra sonic leak detector comes in handy finding vacuum leaks.
You need to dig deeper or maybe find a diagnostic shop for help. All depends on your ability and diagnostic tools,
Good luck and don't forget to tell us what you end up finding.
