Default C7 Z06 shock absorbers

Hi All,
My shock absorbers are now dead. The suspension is hard as rock. Looking for a new ones, but not sure which one I should go for. It's for Corvette C7 Z06 2015, magnetic ride, Z07 package.
I was just just about to purchase ones from Rockauto, but I noticed that on ebay there are some 1/3 price. There may be also something better than stock that I am not aware of.
Any suggestions? Thanks!!!

Suggestion would be to make sure that it is the actual struts that have failed. Having all four fail at once would be extremely rare. Could be a blown fuse, a bad ground, the suspension controller, a harness or connector that feeds all of them, or other things (ECU, BCM, etc.) that interact with them.

Hopefully someone can post a schematic for the MRC system that would help troubleshooting.

Don't assume the problem is with the shock absorbers. There are single-point failure locations that have to be checked before even thinking about the shocks. There are at least two DTCs that can cause the MRC system to shut down.

C0574 indicates the ECU that controls the suspension system has a problem with the internal printed circuit board temperature which may result in the system shutting down. You should see the Service Suspension System and Vehicle Speed Limited messages in the DIC with these codes.

C0696 indicates the 5V sensor supply provided by the ECU is incorrect and this puts the suspension into a default state. You should see a Service Suspension System message in the DIC with this code.

An OBD2 scanner won't see these codes. You need something equivalent to the GM MDI2 tool used by dealership mechanics.

I agree with westsdad - make certain that the shocks are definitely dead and needs replacement. Those shocks are very expensive.

I would think if the shocks were bad the ride would be bouncy.

The OP's C7 Z06 has a Magnetic Selective Ride Control shock absorber system with Active Handling technology that is controlled by a computer system capable of damping force changes up to 1,000 times per second.

Not your standard passive shock absorbers, and the active system has a few more variables that could be involved (shock absorbers, wire harnesses, connectors, suspension control computer, sensors, switches, etc.).

OE MRC front shocks are about $358 each and rear shocks are about $383 each at RockAuto, so better to determine what part of the system needs replacement/repair.

Ok, thank you. Maybe I got lucky, my car doesn't have those. Mine doesn't have any Z's 6's or 0's, just a Stingray.

About 4 years ago, GM came out with a Mag Ride Software update that made the car ride a lot better, the cost of the update was $350.00. As far as I know the update is still available. As others have stated, not likely shocks are bad unless they are leaking or computer issues.
