Default Coolant replacement

Would anyone have OEM instructions for changing the coolant on the C7 Z51 Stingray?

Thank you
Michael

A lot of write ups on this site if you search.

Not hard, just time consuming to do it right.

Thanks for the tip, I found a lot, unfortunately with very different methods, which is why I asked for OEM instructions, it's about the correct bleeding without a bleeding device.

I always use a vacuum system to purge all the air out of the system.

Lost an engine once when I had a trapped air pocket in the head. Blew the head gasket, warped the head.

Yes, the engine was suppose to be self purging.

Oh my! Look at all the pretty little bubbles in the over flow tank!!!

German to English translation:

Thanks for the reply, the vacuum venting device is inexpensive, unfortunately it needs a large compressor for this, our compressor is not enough for this. However, it is the safest way to properly fill the cooling system and bleed it at the same time. I'll probably go to a rental workshop and do it with Vacuum. If I park the warm car and set the heating to max. beforehand, will the valves to be filled remain open?

Thank you. Unfortunately the offer is not available in Germany. I would have liked to read whether GM describes refilling without vacuum. I would also like to be careful because I know the problem with air bubbles in the cooling system from our Opel GT (same as Saturn Sky) forum with the possible consequential damage.

Greetings Michael

Hallo Meikel,

I didn't think about the non-availability of AllData in Germany. A VPN through a USA server wouldn't work either as your credit card would tie you to Germany.

I've searched a lot and have not found the factory process for engine coolant replacement. It would be prudent to bleed the system after replacing to prevent any potential damage from entrapped air.

Here's the adapter that I use for engine coolant bleeding. The Mopar one was created by the 'Cooler Bleeder owner when I asked about bleeding the Super Charger cooling system in my Hell Cat and Hell Cat Redeye. The SC cooling system and the engine cooling system use the same radiator cap.
https://www.coolerbleeder.com/radiator-bleeding

I use the 'Cooler Bleeder for bleeding the air from my Z06 and HC super charger and engine cooling systems.

I use the following vacuum pump for it and when bleeding the engine coolant systems.

There's nothing really complex or unusual about the LT1. Pretty much the same as any other engine. The GM docs are attached.

Thank you very much, the idea with the vacuum pump is great. I got the oem manual for the filling and I think about.

Greetings and a nice weekend from Germany
