I ran over a chunk of metal last week and it busted my tire and wheel liner . Took the liner off to put new one on and saw that it also pinched shut one of the lines for the cooling of the ELS . I drove it , not knowing this , 500 miles at 75-80 on a cool day back home . No error codes and no noise at all .Got the line ordered at Chevy dealer. What kind of fluid does the cooling system have in it and should I have that and the differential fluid changed ? I’m thinking yes just because.
The diff cooler by the passenger side rear quarter panel is for the diff, not the eLSD hydraulics. The diff is filled with a synthetic 75-90 lubricant. The eLSD clutch hydraulic system uses Dexron VI ATF.
If the pinched hose is a diff cooling line all you need to worry about is draining and replacing the diff fluid. If the hose is part of the eLSD system then you may have to replace the hydraulic fluid and recalibrate the diff control module. You will need a GM MDI2 tool or equivalent to recalibrate the module.
