Z06 valve sound

Z06 valve sound

I have a sick Z06 .. car has cylinder 3 misfire..changed spark plugs, coils and wires. Has a ticking/popping/air hissing sound coming from the drivers side valve cover. Any ideas as to what can be causing this?

How do you know it’s cylinder 3? DTC? If yes, what’s the code?

The scanner shows codes P0303 and P0300

I'd check what I mentioned above. If all looks good, I'd swap the coil on cylinder 3 with a good cylinder and see if the miss follows it.

That's an interesting one you don't see everyday. Had the injectors been removed at some point? That's usually the only time those are damaged....people remove them and then reuse them.

That would explain the P0303 but would that explain the P0300 which is Multiple Misfire?

I hope that is all the rubber that they reuse. Idiots.

Just had this happen to me. Put new injectors in the car and they came with new seals so I didn't use the resizing tool on them. 3 seals were bad. 2 injectors got a bit too melty for my liking so replacing the 3 I had seals go bad on and spent the money on a proper injector seal sizing tool.
