My Vette wouldn’t start tonight for some reason. It seems to have plenty of battery power, even tried jump starting it just in case. When I press the Start button it sounds like it is about to crank up for a second then just makes noise from the starter and that is all. I do have a yellow check engine light on the dash. I tried arming and disarming the alarm, no luck. I also tried disconnecting the negative terminal for over 30 minutes, no luck.
Starter seized?
Happened on my 19 Tahoe last summer. I know with these starters, you're NOT supposed to tap on them, but might be worth a try to tap with a mallet underneath while someone above tries to start it. I needlessly replaced the battery but tapping the starter proved that it was seized
Is there a way you can test the battery? IDK if you know of someone with a tester to check the battery under load. Like LT4CMG, I chased a bad battery till I found it was the starter that was oil soaked and screwed up.

Your C7's starter was soaked in oil ?! How'd that happen ??

If the starter is seized up, would it still sound as if were trying to crank the car?
You can smell the exhaust gas for initial diagnosis. If you can smell gas then issue is electric. If no smell of gas then issue might be no gas injected.

Any thoughts?
If the MIL is illuminated you should see what trouble code or codes are set...may help with a diagnosis.
It seems to have decent power as is, if low shouldn’t jumpstarting it should
have worked?
It is totally possible to have a battery that seems to have enough power, but it's bad. That's what aklim was referring to when he mentioned testing it under load. Would jump starting it help with that? Yes, but your cable connections have to be perfect in order to support the current needed
"It seems to have decent power as is..." I've no idea what this means, but I doubt it's a valid measure of your battery's capacity. Check it first and go from there. Also, while at it clean the terminals and the cable connectors. Not long ago that was the issue with a friend's truck I checked for him when he was stranded. All the best, in any regard.
Do this. Clean your terminals and reconnect. Try to start. If it won't, take your battery out and go to an auto store where they will load test it for free.
Clarification needed: Is it a crank, no-start? Does the engine turn over but not actually start or
No crank, No start? Starter doesn't even spin over, just a click or no noise under the hood at all?
i did, wouldn’t crank. I think it is a fuel issue of some sort.
It’s not a fuel issue if it’s a no crank !!…semantics is VERY important when describing a starting issue…..it’s either a “no crank” or “crank no start” !!
