AFAIK, the Diablo doesn't leave a trace so I would get a Diablo unit from Diablew with a tune. That would eliminate the AFM engagement by the ECM, give you a better "tip in" without having to use a different TB to get a faster reaction and can firm up your transmission shift. DIABLEW
Don't you have to back out the tune for the inspection? It still doesn't leave a trace that the ECM has been tuned for 11 months and a couple of weeks so you can pass the test.

I don't know about your state but here, I don't have to do anything. As a matter of fact, I just passed emissions with the tune. Only time I back out the tune is when I have the dealer do some module updates.
Yes, he did. My recommendation is to save your money and get a real tune. It may cost a little more, but you will have a tune that will be appropriate to yourspecific engine.

OK, That would be different from my experience. My tune was fine. In fact, when the tech accidently erased the transmission tune, he redid it for free.
do the units on amazon work the same way ? is there one i should stay away from? dont want to reprogram the pcm car still under warrantee
Although the Diablo can do it without trace, if you want to buy the dongle, I suspect things would be better if you bought it from an authorized dealer not a knock off
i was looking for plug&play without changing any trans or engine settings
I’d recommend the Range device. I’ve used one for years with great results. Get the one from Range itself, not a knockoff brand. It will have their latest version software, and is simply plugged into your OBD port. Can be removed for later use in another vehicle if desired. They can also be found for sale on occasion from other forum members in our classifieds section.
