This question may have been posted before but I was not able to dig up the answer. What is the biggest tire I can run on my C7 Stingray rear 10-in rim? I was thinking about getting the toyo proxes r888r. I'm running around 550whp and I'm probably going to bump up to 600ish. What tire size will hold that power and not rub?
Thank you all for the help!
I run 295/30/20 Michelins on the stock Z51 rims and with a 5mm spacer. No issues and looks great. Others go up to 305 on the stock 10" rim. I would say it depends on the tire brand. Some have a larger tread width or section width etc.
1 - You are flirting with cracking a fender, one cracked fender and you will wish you did not go any bigger than 305, the extra 1/2 inch to an inch you are going to get is going to do absolutely nothing for traction, also a road race tire can be terrible as they need a lot of heat to be sticky
2- No "Street Tire" is going to hook at 550 to 600 HP ..., I am at similar power levels currently I am on stock 285 -20 Michelin Pilot Super Sports for everyday driving, in the summer I leave TC on in 1st gear and still have to roll into the throttle from a dig, the shift to 2nd gets a little hairy,
3- if you want to dead hook buy yourself a pair of 285 30 19 Nitto05 (mounted on replica wheels) or MT 305 35 20 drag radials. I like the 285's because they are the same size high wise as the stock tire, the 305 is a taller tire and can affect 60 ft times
You'll get worse lateral traction than you would with a 295 on the stock rim. When you go too wide for the rim the sidewall becomes unstable and you will be slower in the corners.
i run 305-30-20 on a stock Z51 rim (10" wide) on my 2014 no issues and i run hard on curves Nitto
Continental Contact Extreme all season
Michelin Pilot 4, ZP
I'm curious, have anyone tried 295/35R-19 Yokohama ADVAN A052 tires? I heard they're pretty sticky, and they still run good on wet roads (not standing water).

A R888R will work just find for that power level on the stock size tire. Like most folks said you can go up in size if you like.
Thanks.
Dude, looks like you're on Oahu. I lived in Hilo for 5 years back in the 90's, but it was tough finding a decent job back then. I didn't want to leave, the scuba diving and fishing were awesome, sigh.
