Default Z51 front shock installation

Hi all. Planning ahead for my Z51 suspension and brake upgrade to my base Stingray.

Read many posts and one caught my eye.

It pictured the factory manual and said the front top arm bolts have to be removed and the assembly tilted outward to remove and replace the front shock.

Is that the way it has to be done?

Cheers
Greg

Keep an eye on the rubber brake hose to be sure it doesn't get stretched when you release the upper arm bolts. Also be sure to keep track of the washers between the arm and frame and replace them in the same spot just incase some are different.

I swear I removed the skinny OEM Stingray front shock absorbers and replaced them with the beefier Z-51 (non-magride) units without separating the upper control arm.
This thread seems to confirm that it is possible.

I did my Mag ride shocks and yes you have to remove the top A arm bolts. Watch not to cross thread them and those dam washers are PIA.
