Default C7 odd A/C issue, help!

Hi! This is my first post, but I’ve had a lot of luck with prior questions through others post threads. Hopefully someone has an answer for this one!

In June, after a long day of driving, the a/c blower motor stopped pushing air through the vents (including seat vents and defrost) but you could feel cool air trickling out. After driving for about 15 min, the air started blowing (and cold) again like nothing happened. This happened about once a week since that but continued to blow cold air once it kicked back on— Until 3 weeks later, the blower was working perfectly but only blowing hot air. Cleaned the blower plug and have not experienced any loss of air flow since.. BUT, since then the air is blowing hot. It’s been about 100 degrees out and the air coming through the vents feels every bit of it.. Not sure if the two issues were related or not, but it’s definitely a strange order of events. Car has 80k miles on it so I’m hoping it’s not the compressor.

What I’ve checked so far:
1. Compressor is not engaging.
2. Pressure good on the low port, unable to find my gauge for the high port so unsure on that one.
3. All fuses and relays are fine.

Anyone ever experience something similar and/or have any clue what the issue may be?

It is possible that the evaporator is freezing over. I 'think' I get that a couple times per summer in my 19 Stingray. Back in the day in an old van it was notorious for that. The fix was leave the fan on but turn the AC off. You will get slowly increasing air flow as it melts the ice off of the evaporator. It will also be somewhat cold until the ice is gone, then turn the AC on again.

Could have air in the system.

USING THE PROPER EQUIPMENT:

Evacuate the system, weigh in the proper amount of charge. (ie: pull a deep vacuum, checks for leaks, recharge system by weight and not with the small cans with the hose from Walmart).

If it fixes the problem, good.

If not, well it troubleshooting time, of course with the proper equipment. ie; good vacuum pump, accurte weigh table, good gauges with good hoses, 20 Lb bottle of refrigerant, leak detector. etc.....

It ain't that hard.

Maybe I'm confused, based on everyone else's diagnosis, sound s like they're thinking AC issues.
I gather, since you say the blower stopped, it's the blower fan. It's easy to reach under the plastic panel under dash on passenger side. One connection, and it's known to fail. You can get new pigtails cheap and it's easy. If that's not it, a new blower motor is $130 or so. If cold air is "leaking" out, your AC I'd fine. If air isn't BLOWING, it's the blower motor/connection. Good luck

According to the shop, it’s the compressor and the two issues were unrelated. Lucky me! Unplugging the connection under the dash fixed the blower issue and I’ll be replacing the compressor today. The shop quoted a cool $2500 to replace it in addition to the $278 diagnosis. Fingers crossed this is the fix..
