ANC Active Noise Cancellation

ANC Active Noise Cancellation
How can you tell if your car has the ANC option? I can't figure out where it is discussed other than page145 in the 2019 owners manual and there is not much information about it. If you have it how does it function?

If you have ANC there will be an on/off setting in the radio settings. From the 2019 infotainment manual page 11:
Bose AudioPilot Noise
Compensation Technology (If
Equipped) : When turned on,
AudioPilot technology detects noise
and vehicle speed to continuously
adjust the audio signal so that music
will sound the same at a set volume
level. This feature is most effective
at lower radio volume settings
where background noise can affect
how well the music is being played.

feature can be turned on or off.
Press o BACK on the center stack
or touch the Back icon on the
infotainment display to go back to
the previous menu.

Disabling your C7's ANC requires either the dealer to do so or you can do it yourself with an after-market wiring harness that connects to audio-amplifier. That's how I did it several years ago.

Yeah, you may have a point. I have ANC disabled in my Camaro SS convertible and in my Z06. I did this several years ago. After disabling, I cannot be certain that I notice any difference in either vehicle. In addition to disabling ANC, soon after I got my Camaro, I also removed the sound tube that channeled the intake sound into the cabin. For both of my fun cars, I just want to ensure I am hearing the natural vehicle sounds without enhancements or cancelations. From what I have read, ANC may become an issue if a vehicle audio system is upgraded, which I did not do to either of my cars.

Al C7s have Active Noise Cancellation, with the 9 speaker or 10 speaker Bose system, not to be confused with Bose Audio Pilot . The only place that describes the Noise Cancellation feature is in the Factory Service Manul.
Audio Pilot makes the volume louder when cabin noise is higher. You can turn Audio Pilot ON or Off in one of the audio setting menus.
Active Noise Cancellation, which cannot be turned-off in any menu, reduces cabin noise by cancelling low frequency noise sounds by playing the opposite noise signal (as picked-up by the 2 cabin microphones) through the low frequency speakers. Works like noise cancelling headphones. Lower frequency noise, from the engine and exhaust, is reduced by this system. The system is not effective for reducing higher frequency noise, like tire/road-noise. If you install an aftermarket amp, like for an added subwoofer, you must disable the Active Noise Cancellation by disconnecting the two cabin microphones.
