Default Has anyone installed EOS downpipes?

Have you installed any of these two EOS pipes in your SR, GS or Z06?
Was it manual or auto?
Did you get a CEL, and had to tune it out?

Idk about the catted ones but if you install the catless ones you will for sure get a cel. You can disable the check engine light from showing with a tune.

I do “suspect” there will be a CEL, but not positive. That’s why I’m asking.

Not really interested to tune it out or use a fouler which mask when running lean or when running rich which could end up resulting and/or damaging engine.

Is it worth the cost and effort or just stick with OEM manifolds and down pipes if you don’t want Lt headers?

yes. approx 15 hp gain and less heat near the starter and wiring harnesses . louder on start up as well which is a plus for me.

You went with the catless down pipes through and reinstalled factory xpipe, right?

I have done a few different ways. initially I went with catless mid pipe to get rid of the secondary resonators. nice increase in sound no real power gains. then went to catless downpipes. added this to my other mods and tuned. tuner says about 15 rwhp with this setup all cats gone. my issue was the smell. on pump 93 it was horrible. since eos is a 2 piece setup on the midpipe I figured it was leaking so I had it welded to make it 1 piece. still smells awful. headache at the redlight awful. so I then reinstalled the oem mid pipe and smell was gone. much better. tuner feels the power loss was minimal since the primary cats are the biggest restriction.
once I pull the motor and do cam dod delete etc ad port injection and run full pump corn ill try the catless mid pipe again. current setup is catless downpipes and oem mid pipe oem cutback. cold start has a nice LOUD bark to it. cruising with valves closed is oem sound. open them up its slightly louder than open and on the interstate there is minimal drone. typically I only run valves open at the track or cruising into a show.

Yeah I’m wondering if I should just go with catted downpipe since I already have the catless xpipe or spend the little extra and get a high flow cat welded into the x pipe and go with catless downpipe. I sold my factory xpipe so that’s not an option for me.

This would be in connection with a heads cam package.
