Default Need a tune for MSD intake manifold?

Hey everybody, I have a 2017 Stingray and I recently bought an MSD intake manifold. I’m going to get the car tuned but am wondering if it would be safe to drive the car in the meantime and to the shop without a tune. I assume it would be okay as long as I’m driving normal and not driving like a maniac but I figured better safe than sorry. Thanks.

It would probably be fine but I personally wouldn't risk it without your tuner making a base tune change. Ask your tuner if they have an RTD program so that you can do install a remote tune yourself prior to driving the car after the intake is complete.

Yeah I thought about that and when I got the car done the first time he said he doesn’t do remote tuning. So I’m stuck driving it up there without a tune or paying outrageous labor costs for them to put it on when I can do it myself. I’m sure it’ll be fine but it’s like a 2hr+ drive to his shop.

It’ll be fine without a tune. The stock tuning is very robust.
