I've used the advance search and know this has been discussed, but I couldn't find if this is possible.
2014 Z51 7MT, 22,000 miles. I've only had the car for a couple weeks, but the whole time the outside temp display on the info screen has never worked.
The threads I've searched through the recommendation is to disconnect the neg. battery cable for 20-30 minutes, then reconnect. Then this sometimes requires re-indexing the windows.
My question is: Is there a fuse I can remove to reset the display instead of using the battery disconnect method.
In the front fuse box, Fuse 22 says it's for the display. Would removing and re-installing this or any other fuse work to reset the temp display?
I assume that you have two dashes "--" on the display where the temp should be. This can indicate a bad ambient temperature sensor, bad connection, or a glitch. Removing the negative battery cable for 30 minutes will cause all of the computer modules to hard boot. This can clear glitches. You will have to reindex the windows and potentially reset seat memory and radio presets. Just resetting the display won't clear a temperature sensor glitch.
Be careful not to break the small black wire on the negative battery cable / clamp.
