I’ve got a 416/blower cam stingray and we’re having trouble going from LT1 to LT4 injectors. Have not changed to the HPFP just added the new injectors to the build. Car has been tuned. Injector #1 has died twice now. First we thought just a bad injector and replaced the one with another brand new LT4 injector but now this one is dead as well. Has anyone dealt with this issue?
I’ve heard part numbers on injectors need to match but it shouldn’t cause a full blown injector failure right?
Sounds like a wiring short somewhere in the harness or an injector driver fault in the PCM.
The part numbers are how GM grouped injectors regarding flow rate. 1 part number corresponds to flow lower than nominal, another part number for nominal flow injectors, and a third for injectors that flowed higher than nominal. Basically it was a way to maintain flow balance during repairs and not have to scrap injectors that were x% off of the nominal spec.
