All oem wide body wheels are prone to cracking.

The pics are not oem Grand Sport wheels, and could be aftermarket Z06 style. OEM Z06 wheels are known crackers.

Cracks usually seem to cause a slow leak and still can be driven on.. OEM RUN CRACKS I like to call them!!

They can be repaired with welding at a wheel shop for fairly cheap (eg $89 for one front wheel after 2 years and 12k in my case).

Just get a car in nice shape overall and prepare to fall in love, wheels are easily repaired and/or replaced!

I’m not 100% sure as to why, however aside from oem wheels cracking on the C7 body I’ve personally have seen aftermarket wheels have the same issue. Get the car you love and just make sure that if your charging the wheels to go with a fully forged set up with the proper load ratings. That has been the only true fix. Not rotary forged or spun forged or hybrid forged or any nick name forged simply 6061-T6 alloy.
if you don’t find something your looking for I will be happy to help out when the time comes.

From our professional experience since making wheels since 2017 for the Grandssport. Most 2017 and 2019 Grandsport and Z06 have had issues with cracking wheels. That’s why we developed the GS01 and ZE11 for the Grandsport and Z06. Since 2017 we still haven’t had to warranty any of our wheels.
Let us know if you need any help. We been working with the Corvette community since 2010.

If buying a wide-body with OEM wheels, consider a set of quality, fully-forged, aftermarket wheels as part of the price-of-admission. Enjoy!

Check the wheels on the car to see if they are cracked. If not purchase the car and worry about the wheels later. I have run my 2015 Z06 hard for 9 years and haven't cracked the original wheels yet. I have nailed plenty of track rumble strips at triple-digit speeds and they are still holding solid. I run in Track Mode Sport 1, 2 and Race when on track. On the street, I run in Tour Mode.
