My Rpms go up and down slightly when in any gear. What can be the problem. I had new tires done and an oil change recently. Seems RPM goes up and down very little but noticeable when looking at tach. Hoping for an easy fix, not a mechanic so any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Car has only 30,000 miles on it .
Don’t know if this is the exact cause of your concern but this TSB may help wherever you have your car serviced…most shops don’t read these so you might want to point it out to them.

Do you have an A8? You may be noticing the rpm fluctuating when the TCC engages and disengages as the AFM switches from V8 to V4 to V8.
