Hey guys. Recently I turned my car on to take in for an oil change and I noticed the fan speed just stays on. I can’t change the fan speed but everything else is working. I’m able to change the temperature, AC, defroster are all working. Anyone have this issue ? The dials on the fan speed don’t even light up. I tried the unplugging the blower motor and plugging it back in without success.
First thing to do is to see if there are any trouble codes present...AC trouble codes are "B" or Body codes and will not be able to be read by a "Code Reader"...you will need a factory level or equivalent scan tool...with these scan tools you can look at 'inputs and outputs"...when you adjust fan speed and the scan tool does not show an increase or decrease in fan speed you have an input problem...you can command the blower motor to increase or decrease using output controls...there is a blower control module that controls the fan....either way you will need to check for any Body codes....there is a 40 amp fuse you can check...maybe it's blown !!

Respectfully I was trying to avoid the dealership because I know they are going to charge me an arm and leg just to find the issue
