C7 starter staying engaged?
Hey second post here on the forums so if I’m doing this wrong please be patient with me. The starter on my 2014 c7 stingray went bad a few weeks back. When I ordered the new one it was an original gm starter but when I got everything buttoned up and turned on the car it sounded almost as if the starter was still engaged. I took the starter to get tested at a local spot I trusted and everything was good on the test. I was given a remanufactured starter identical to see if I had any luck and still the same problem I will attach a video of the sound it’s making and hopefully someone can point me in the right direction as of now I swapped out the starter relay in the fuse box with a different one in the fuse box and still had the same problem. It sounds like you may need to add a shim. The starter is engaging the flywheel and there is not enough clearance to allow it to disengage. The starter will burn up if this isn't corrected quickly.
