I'm finishing up my cam install this weekend and am wanting to find someone reputable with Gen V LT1's to do the tune remotely. The tune doesn't have to be done this week, would just like to get on the schedule.
I have seen people offering tuning here in the past but I am not sure who is still doing it and a forum search didn't really offer much.
That reminds me; can I run the WB sensor in the factory bung? Trying to avoid welding a new one since space is limited upstream from the cats.
I don't think you can since you need the fuel trim data from that o2 sensor for idle, part throttle, and cruise.
You can always put a spare bung on the side of one of the pipes where the tunnel widens. Then just tape the wire to the bottom of the car and run it inside the driver's side door to the gauge. You don't need a permanent installation, just enough to get you tuned. Many will tune everything except WOT without a wideband so ask whoever you pick. Depends on the level of perfection that's desired.
For WOT it'd be better on a dyno and they can use a wide-band that sticks in the tailpipe if you have no cats. I'd expect that's what a remote tuner may want for WOT. It's hard to do 4th gear WOT pulls on the street to 150mph+ to get good data.
Bottom line, talk to a couple Tuners and ask them what they want. Like anything, they all have a process they follow that works for them.
Pay no attention to the **** location of the OEM sensor on mine. That's being rectified. That aside, you can see where the wb bung is located:

The sensors have always worked fine in that orientation. The new ones will be further forward (~4 inches) and at ~10 o'clock position (drivers side) ~2 o'clock position (passenger side) with the new setup. That's to eliminate heat shield interference and move the bullet cats forward so the tunnel plate fits without spacers.
I know in years gone by the concern was about condensation on the tip of the sensor but those sensor weren't heated. Not sure how much that applies these days since the sensors are heated. Maybe if I was in an area like FL with brutal humidity?
