Hi all,
I am new to the Corvette world after purchasing a 2019 Stingray about 2 months ago.
I am fixing all the issues I find and the latetest is something with the microphone.
When recieving calls, when my phone is physically connected, no one can hear me but I hear them clearly. I believe the volume is on.
Also I tested the microphone by pushing the talk button on the steering wheel but the car cannot hear me.
Can it be a broken wire or a fuse? What are your thoughts on fixing it?
I've tried a search but found no threads on this subject.
I'm not sure but guessing, is the OnStar emblem on the bottom of the rearview mirror a button? If so its not lit or working, maybe its part of this problem?
Thanks.
Mike

Reason: typo correction
I checked the car and couldn't find anything about mute so I'm sure how you turn mute on or off.
I did make a call and they couldn't hear me till I turned on "handsfree", turning it off I was back to no sound coming from my end.
Does the car react to voice commands? If so, mike is good.
Assuming that Android Auto or Apple CarPlay is NOT active:
Note that "hands free" routes the phone through the car - "handset" is the phone without any car features. You can toggle modes on the infotainment "phone" screen.
Hey Ron, Thanks for responding.
I disconected the phone and the car still does not respond to commands. It tells me no speech detected (with or without phone connected).
There is not much in the infotainment system. Seams pretty simple to understand. Not sure why someone commented on a mute button, I don't see anything to do that plus why could I still hear the caller if mute was on? When I mentioned "hand free" Iit was the phone setting not the car. No hands free in the vehicle.
So I'm guessing it is the microphone not working. Maybe a fuse or broken wire?
So if anyone was following this thread.
I found the problem.
It was a very simple fix.
Checked the 2 fuse boxes to see if one was blown, the fuse box in the trunk was missing the fuse for the onstar slot.
Took the extra 10 fuse and plugged it in, now the 3 buttons on the mirror light up, the car hears my commands and people can hear me on calls.
Hope this helps anyone else with this problem.
This was great information, super helpful.
I have owned my 2014 Stingray about 2 weeks, and it has been very frustrating not having the microphone working. This was the fix, the OnStar fuse was missing. This car had been stolen and recovered so I believe the thieves were trying to avoid tracking by OnStar.

I'm still having this issue and I checked the fuse box for the onstar slot and it was in place and the fuse is good.
Not sure what to do next??
