Procharged C7 loses boost when installing long tube headers
Yooo,
My 2015 C7 Z51 with a tier two pro charger, is set to install arh long tubes. I'm told without swapping out one of the supercharges pulleys my boost will take a dump. I'm trying to optimize my stingray
, get a wicked exhaust note, not lose and blower pressure, and I should dyno at 620rwp.
the mechanic that immediately mentioned the pulley change is MIA, so before I bug tps, procharger and arh figured I'd ask the legends for the correct upc code for that damn pulley!!

Reason: Put the title in bold
If you’re dead set in maintaining your boost and gaining power, then go with the pulley change. However, you don’t need to do that. The drop in boost is due to less restriction. Less boost on a less restrictive engine is still a gain in power.
As efficency increases, you'll usually see a decrease in psi. Uncorking the exhaust and letting it breath will net more power, and a slight decrease in boost. If you want to maintain a specific target of boost, you'll need to spin the blower faster.
What size pulley is on it now? We can work backwards from there.
Boost is a by product of restriction, you are actually making more HP at a lower boost preasure by adding headers ... depending on your build ... this might be a good thing , if you are still running stock pistons you might not want to cross that 600 HP line .... 😉
