I finally got to install the new cam in my engine and when putting the the phaser back so that the guide pin(?) on the back lines up with the hole in the camshaft it almost felt "too easy".
Is there a good way to verify the pin is in the hole before starting the engine? I have turned it by hand and it doesn't appear to wobble or to have moved at all without the cam.
Any other tips for while I'm in there are also appreciated.
my tip would be ditch the entire phaser setup for a full vvt delete. even with the phaser lockout you can see 1-2* of movement .
I am using a BTR cam and the 4* limiter, not a full lock out, as per their direction. Their cam was designed with using VVT in mind so I'd prefer to stick with that.
